New Blog Design & Name Change

Those of you who already follow me will have noticed that I have a new blog design and the eagle eyed amongst you may also have picked up on the name change too!  I didn't really like the layout and background of my blog and as for the name....well it just didn't work for me anymore!

The lovely Hayley at Tea Party Beauty also has a blog design shop and she made me this lovely custom design and installed it for only £25! Hayley emailed me asking about colour preferences, themes, fonts, etc and then came up with this design.  I love it as it gives the blog a really clean and easy to read layout.  I highly recommend using Hayley if you want to give your blog a new look :)!

I decided to change the name of my blog and bought a domain name too, this meant that I had to change all the names on my social media such as Bloglovin, Instagram and Twitter which was a pain due to the life of dee already been taken but after sticking an "m" on the end of it I finally got a new user name!  I have also just set up a Facebook page and a YouTube channel  that I will start to post things on soon  ( please can you pop over to my page and like, it's a bit lonely being on there on my own :( ).  If there is anything that you would really like me to cover then please let me know :)

Spicy Seafood Pasta

I love seafood especially prawns, whenever we go out for a meal it is one of the first things that I look for on the menu closely followed by a steak. It has to be freshly cooked prawns though and none of this already cooked and reheated until it tastes of fishy rubber that some places that I've been to serve up as they just taste rank! This Spicy Seafood Pasta dish is so quick and easy to make plus it tastes ah-maze-ing, the chilli gives off the right amount of heat and you get the lovely sweet and peppery taste from the fresh basil. If you are following the Slimming World diet then this is classed as free food providing you don't use fresh pasta and use a spray oil so you can eat as much as you want.

Slimming World Mains; Pasta Dishes

What you need

Squid Rings
Prawns (raw)
2 Garlic clove, minced
Red Onion finely chopped
Tin of Cherry Tomatoes
Salt & Pepper
Chilli Flakes, 1/4 teaspoon
Fresh basil, torn
Pasta; spaghetti, fusilli, penne, whichever you prefer

How to make

Spray your frying pan or wok with spray oil.
Fry your chopped onion and chilli flakes over a medium-high heat until onions soften, then add your garlic ensuring it doesn't burn.
Chuck in the squid and prawns, fry until they are cooked. Add the tinned tomatoes and season with salt and pepper, allow to simmer for 5 mins.  Tear some basil leaves and put them into the tomato sauce just before the end of cooking.
While this is cooking, boil your pasta as directed on the packet. Once cooked all dente, drain and season if required then place into a bowl and add your seafood sauce to the pasta.
Serve with a mixed salad and if you fancy it a bottle glass or two of wine.

Let me know if you tried this Spicy Seafood Pasta, you don't just have to use prawns and squid like I did you could also add scallops,mussels or any other seafood that takes your fancy. I used gluten free pasta so this makes the dish both gluten and dairy free too.
